Rachel Joy Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion coupled with the contents of her six diaries have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in America. Brookstone students in Grades 5-8 had the special opportunity to be a part of this program. The program focused on helping students recognize their purpose in life. They were issued five powerful challenges that are based on her writings and life experiences. Students were also able to sign the banner, accepting the challenge to spread kindness and caring!
Challenges:
1. Treat others the way you want to be treated
2. Dream big - Believe in yourself
3. Appreciate everyone-mock no one
