PRE-KINDERGARTEN AND KINDERGARTEN READINESS:
MORE THAN LETTERS AND NUMBERS

YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A LECTURE

GIVEN BY BOBBIE LENCKE
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2012
7:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
BROOKSTONE SCHOOL
TURNER ARTS CENTER

For more than 40 years, Bobbie Lencke has been involved in child development and early childhood education as a classroom teacher, a pre-school director, and former Director of Admission at Wesleyan School in Norcross, GA. Drawing on her extensive experience, she provides an understanding and awareness of how to help parents identify and understand the stages of development necessary for children to thrive in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

Mrs. Lencke has been speaking to Atlanta area schools, churches and educational organizations for 25 years and just recently has received rave reviews from Atlanta's Westminster Schools and The Cathedral Preschool as well as Decatur United Methodist Preschool. Please join us as this veteran educator returns to Brookstone to deliver her delightful, informative lecture on the early childhood years.

Some of the topics to be covered include:

  • What are the typical developmental stages of pre-school age children?
  • What is Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten readiness?
  • What skills should a child have to begin PK or K and be successful?
  • What is "over-placement" and what can be done about it?
  • What are developmentally appropriate practices?

There will be a question and answer period at the end of her lecture.

Everyone is welcome and no reservation is necessary.

"I could not have had a better time than I did at Brookstone School. I came away thinking how good it would be if every child could go to such a school."
- David McCullough, Pulitzer Prize winning author.
