Our One-Act Play team is well on its way to an outstanding 2008 season with its production of William Inge's well-known comedy, Bus Stop. The team recently competed at the Georgia Theatre Conference State One-Act Play Festival at Darton College/Theatre Albany in Albany October 16-18. Thirty high schools were performing as well as Community Theatre and Children's Theatre groups. Junior Mc Kay Sheftall was awarded the Best Supporting Actor trophy, and seniors Rachel Martz and Sam Teeples were named to the prestigious All-Star Cast.
The team's next competition is Region, Friday, November 7 at Georgia Southwestern University in Americus. The show was performed for the entire middle school on October 28 and for the upper school on November 6. Night performances were on October 15 and November 6. "If we are lucky enough to win Region," says Ms. Jiles, "the state competition is on Saturday, November 15.

1954: A night in early March-1:00 a.m., a few minutes later, and early morning, about 5:00 a.m.
In the middle of a snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside restaurant, Grace's Diner, in a small town about thirty miles west of Kansas City. All roads are blocked, and four weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning.
