The Intermediate School consists of grades 4 and 5.  This division of Brookstone specializes in teaching the whole child between the ages of 9 and 11.  Alongside a challenging curriculum based on the common core standards, we also teach character education, art, music, computer, and foreign language.  The 4th grade engages in Spanish, while the 5th grade learns French.  Each month we focus on a character trait that helps to teach values such as honor, respect, and integrity, because we know the importance of becoming an independent, confident and compassionate citizen.

Intermediate School students rotate through seven classes each day, and begin the responsibility of keeping a locker.  The Intermediate School is a wonderful transition between lower and middle school where students are given freedom and responsibility in a uniquely small and loving environment.

We welcome the opportunity to teach, challenge, and develop your child.

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."  -William Butler Yeats

School life revolves around learning, and at Brookstone, learning happens everywhere. The school provides an environment that nurtures the courage to take a first step, to defend a friend, and to try something new.
