GBI Agent Sue Dowling spoke to parents on April 29, 2013.  Agent Dowling provided us with handouts that are attached here.  She also spoke to our Middle School students on topics relevant to them.  If you have a middle school age student, ask them about her presentation.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to prepare students to become lifelong learners capable of integrating technology fluently in their lives.  We believe that introducing our students to technology tools ad digital citizenship will better prepare them to achieve in post-secondary education and in the workplace.  Our technology program must embrace the new and ever-changing technologies and incorporate those technologies into the classroom. 

 Brookstone has a one-to-one tablet PC program for the Upper School students.  Each freshman uses a Lenovo tablet PC for use in class. 

The Middle School has a Teaching Computer Lab, a separate lab available to all Middle School teachers to reserve, and a Mobile Cart with Lenovo tablet PCs. 

The Intermediate School also has a Mobile cart with Lenovo netbooks available along with four computers per classroom.  

The Lower School has an iPad cart for teachers to reserve along with four computers per classroom.

 Worth Watching!

"Did You Know?" is a video created in September 2006 by Karl Fisch of Arapahoe High School in Colorado. According to Mr. Fisch, he remixed content from David Warlick, Thomas Friedman, Ian Jukes, Ray Kurzweil, and others, and incorporated music from "The Last of the Mohicans". His intent was to get teachers at his school thinking and entering into discussions about the world their students will face, and how that should impact their classrooms. With permission, Scott McLeod modified it. Both have given permission to download and link to it. As Mr. Fisch emailed to Mr. McLeod,

I'm glad the presentation is making an impact - that was the idea, of course (although mostly for my own staff, I didn't know it would take on a life of its own!). I hope that the conversations it starts don't just stop at conversations, but actually translate into actions for our students.
