Brookstone provides a vibrant, multifaceted fine arts experience, allowing each individual to discover potential and to develop as an artist. At Brookstone School, the entire school community is inspired to discover that involvement in the arts brings joy, peace, purpose, insight, and cultural understanding. 

Upcoming Fine Arts Events

Middle School Fine Arts Program Enhancement

Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, Brookstone’s Middle School Fine Arts program will shift from short rotations to a focused, year-long pathway model for rising 6th graders. Students will choose one course—Theatre, Visual Art, Chorus, or Orchestra—as the foundation of their middle school arts experience, with opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration and participation in performances and events beyond the classroom. This change is designed to deepen skills, support long-term engagement, and strengthen vertical alignment in the arts. Rising 7th and 8th graders will move to this model in 2027–28.

Visual Arts

The visual arts teach students how to apply higher order thinking skills in the creation of multiple solutions to two and three dimensional problems. In art, students will learn to analyze forms of art from a variety of cultures and societies, historical and contemporary, to interpret meanings within appropriate contexts and relate their understanding to their own expressions and life experiences.

Performing Arts

A successful and growing high school theatre program, Brookstone Upper School Theatre produces four shows each year with additional technical opportunities with the Middle School productions. Our experienced theatre teachers create a brave and inclusive community of storytellers pursuing excellence and meaningful engagement in deeply personal human stories that spark joy, conversation, and transformation.

Music

The music program at Brookstone is about the journey as well as the destination, about product as the result of process. Students will be exposed to an advanced repertoire as they participate in classes that reach students on an individual and group basis.

Arts Alliance

The Brookstone Arts Alliance was formed in August 2015 and is charged with specifically supporting the needs of the Brookstone Fine and Performing Arts Department.
