Intermediate School
The Intermediate School provides students a gradual transition from the self-contained Lower School environment to the expectations of a departmentalized Middle School.
At the core of the transition to the Intermediate School is a focus on socioemotional learning, executive functioning and study skills, and the development of leadership skills.
The academic day starts with an all-school Morning Meeting where students engage in a controlled social environment, make class announcements and share student accolades, and engage in other collaborative activities. Following Morning Meeting, students rotate through 4 or 5 blocks of core academic classes. Our elective schedule is also an essential part of the day. Students complete a weekly rotation through physical education (PE), Spanish, Technology, Art, and Music.
